March 26; Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo – After Hours at the Zoo: Hippos, enjoy an exclusive visit with the resident hippos, Sparky and Lobi, followed by inspired conversation. Hear from members of the Animal Care, Health & Welfare team as they speak about their work caring for the hippos, along with members of the global conservation team as they speak about the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo’s community conservation work at the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary in Ghana.

Starting March 27; One Yellow Rabbit’s 36th Annual High Performance Rodeo, Calgary’s International Festival of the Arts, will make its return to the stages for 3 weeks. HPRodeo 2022features more than seventy-five artists in twenty productions presented in ten venues around Calgary’s downtown.
March 27; The Shoe Project at Contemporary Calgary, this writing and performance workshop features immigrant women sharing the stories of their journeys to Canada. This performance by ten newcomer women presents their immigration stories crafted under the mentorship of veteran Canadian writers and theatre professionals.

Beginning March 1; Quantum Sandbox at TELUS Spark, a digital immersion gallery like nothing before, where guests find themselves in a world of colours, sounds, movement and energy. Youth ages thirteen to nineteen are invited to jam, practice their skills, and explore their creative potential, all while making new friends, every Thursday at Studio Bell.
Until March 29; The Festival of Animated Objects, this festival brings world-class artists to engage and entertain audiences of all ages through the innovative and sophisticated art of storytelling through mask, puppetry, and animated objects. Until April 14, Nightrise combines multimedia, storytelling, and nature at the Banff Gondola for a multi-sensory journey like no other. The event will bring light and sound together to share a new and inspiring perspective in the heart of the Rockies. At Sulphur Mountain’s peak, guests can explore the many levels of the summit building and enjoy Rockies-inspired eats and drinks. Outside on the viewing decks, discover wonders that only emerge as the night begins to rise.

Until May 28; Greased at Jubilations Theatre, tap your toes and laugh as the theatre parodies one of the all-time great nostalgia trips. All your favourite rock and roll classics of the 50’s are queued up and ready.
Until June 26; Otipemisiwka at Fort Calgary, the exhibit showcases recent works by Daphne Boyer, a visual artist and plant scientist, using a photo-based technique that mirrors spectacular traditional Métis beading.
