June 17, 10am to 3pm; What’s Up With Wetlands at Bow Habitat Station, dip your toes into the wonderful world of wetlands as we discover What’s Up With Wetlands! Take part in hands-on Investigation Stations throughout the Discovery Centre, and be sure to stop to chat with experts from the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area, and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) to uncover what lies beyond the cattails. June 17 to 19; All Sports One Day, with more than 100 sessions featuring over 30 exciting activities from which to choose, the sports could include basketball, speedskating, karate, hockey, soccer, fencing, and much more. June 18, 11am to 4pm; Okotoks Parade and Children’s Festival, The Parade and Children’s Festival has grown into one of the largest annual events in Okotoks. Bring the whole family out for a full day of entertainment and activities at the Town of Okotoks Annual Parade Day, held each year in June. Bands, floats, dancers, horses and fire trucks are all part of the proceedings that wind throughout downtown. June 18; Pop Up Roller Rink, Come skate at the Junior Varsity Ball Centre! The building includes a 15,000 square foot wood floor and lots of free parking. June 18 to 19, 10am to 4pm; The Hangar Flight Museum Father’s Day Wings and Wheels, enjoy special event offerings, such as entry into select aircraft, allowing a chance to sit in the cockpit. There will be hands-on activities and local car clubs will be there highlighting vehicles for a show and shine, too. If you’re ready for an adventure, Helicopter City Tours from LR Helicopters will also be offered for an additional fee, but it’s first-come, first-served and weather dependent. Until October 27; National Music Centre’s Jam Club, join the National Music Centre’s free after-school Jam Club program. Youth ages thirteen to nineteen are invited to jam, practice their skills, and explore their creative potential, all while making new friends, every Thursday at Studio Bell for free.
