April 22, 10:30am to 11:45am; 8th Annual POW! Parade of Wonders, join the crowd for the official kick off to Calgary Expo in style. Watch thousands of incredible cosplayers along the parade route and from the fan zone. The parade begins at 10:30am at 8th Avenue and 8th Street, and parades down Stephen Avenue, concluding at Olympic Plaza for the Calgary Expo Opening Ceremony at approximately 11:30am. April 22, Family Fun Night at Aussies Rules Piano Bar, a fun night evening of dueling pianos, kid friendly menus and drink specials for kids of all ages for just $5 a ticket. Learn more at aussierules.ca
April 23, 1am to 2 pm; Earth Day Celebration at Southcentre Mall, in addition to Southcentre’s permanent recycling bins for paper, cardboard, beverage containers and clothing, you will also be able to recycle metals and old electronics in the southeast parking lot next to CIBC. A Earth Day learning hub will be located indoors on the second level near H&M and will also include an eco-friendly art station for guests to make a fun take-home craft out of recycled cardboard. A giant Earth Day picture frame for guests to take photos inside of will also be on display and will feature a unique design using recycled materials.

April 23; Astrophysics on the Cutting Edge Space Night at the RAO, this event is part of International Dark Skies Week. Dr. Phil Langill will share how the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory has been advocating for dark skies in Southern Alberta.
