July 4 to 10; Monster Energy Compound. They’re very skilled, very brave and have tons of adrenaline. Located across from the Saddledome, watch these motocross athletes at the Monster Energy Compound reach new heights as they showcase their skills and perform gravity-defying stunts. July 4 to 14; Dog Bowl. The Dog Bowl presented by Hairbo brings The Canine Stars to Stampede Park, an elite troupe of highly-trained pup-letes who are paws-down the most lovable performers around. July 4 to 14; Midway. There’s enough white-knuckled exhilaration on the Midway to satisfy any adrenaline aficionado — even kids’ rides in The Great FUNtier! If you prefer skills to thrills, the Midway games will challenge your hand-eye coordination. Just keep your eyes on the target, and you might take home a prize. July 4 to 14; The Canadian Armed Forces. Visit the Canadian Armed Forces area on Stampede Park to meet heroes from the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Air Force, and The Royal Canadian Navy. You can see equipment up close, such as a the Canadian Army’s Leopard II Main Battle Tank, the Royal Canadian Navy’s Torpedo, and the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CF-18 Hornet Cockpit, and learn more about the work of the Canadian Armed Forces. July 4 to 14; Elbow River Camp. You are invited to experience the cultures of the Kainai, Piikani, Siksika, Stoney Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina First Nations of Treaty 7 in Elbow River Camp, presented by Enbridge. July 5, 9am; Stampede Parade. The Stampede Parade presented by Suncor is an iconic part of Calgary’s cultural identity. Since 1912, the Stampede Parade has served as the official kickoff of The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. Each year, the Stampede Parade entertains our community with a showcase of colorful floats, majestic horses and the high-energy marching bands. July 5 and 11; TransAlta Generation Station Stampede Party. Giddy-up with TransAlta and their Stampede Party. Head to Macleod Trail and 11 Avenue SE on July 5 and 11 for Stampede fun. There will be line dancing, boot shines, photo-ops, bedazzling, cotton candy, and freezies. This event is open to all. Learn more at transalta.com.
July 5 to 14; Milk ‘n Cookie Shack. Located on the west side of the Agriculture Zone, beside entrance to the Nutrien Western Event Centre , visit the Milk ‘n Cookies shack presented by Alberta Milk to sit and rest, while enjoying the ultimate refreshing snack of milk and cookies offered at just $2. July 5 to 14, 1:30pm; Stampede Rodeo. The calibre of a rodeo comes down to two things: the skill of the competitors and the quality of the horses, bulls and steers. The Stampede Rodeo features the world’s best competitors and animals. Every afternoon at 1:30pm, cowboys and cowgirls face off in a furious display of skill and grit, with every win building towards Showdown Sunday, at the World’s Largest Outdoor Rodeo. Chuckwagon Breakfasts
Get your flapjacks and bacon hot off the griddles from the back of the authentic Cowboys Rangeland Derby Chuckwagons and Fluor Smokies at Fluor Rope Square. You might even get to meet one of the drivers! Fluor Rope Square serves up our famous bacon pancakes daily.
Activities
Fluor Rope Square presents family friendly entertainment including dancers, singers, fiddlers, clowns, face painting, mascots, and a High Noon Hootenanny with country music artists. Featured acts over the week include:

You could be invited to compete in the Lammles World Championship Hat Stomping Contest, the Fluor Great Western Flapjack Flip, or be sworn in as a honorary Calgarian. Don’t forget to enter the Fluor Daily Prize Draw!
Old Time Rigs
Tour downtown Calgary in a horse-drawn old-time rig. Volunteers will be randomly giving out these free tickets to people at Fluor Rope Square this year. Ticket holders are then escorted from Fluor Rope Square at 9:30am to the departure point on 9 Avenue and 1 Street SW (EnCana Place across from the Palliser Hotel). The tour leaves at 10am and takes about one hour.
First Nations Parade
At 11:30am daily, members of the five tribes of Treaty 7, dressed in traditional regalia, proudly share their heritage and culture through dance, music and commentaries. Come join them in the Friendship Dance.
Square Dancing
From 10am to 12pm daily, kick up your heels and join square dancers on Stephen Avenue between Centre and 1 Street SW. Experience isn’t necessary! With the help of the Fluor Square Dancers, anyone can learn to dance.
July 7; Tim Hortons Family Day. Bring the whole family to the Calgary Stampede and celebrate with free fun for everyone. Admission is free until 11am, a free pancake breakfast in the GMC Stadium Courtyard from 8 to10am while quantities last, and a free variety show from 8 to 10am in GMC Stadium. July 7 to 8, 1 to 6pm; Powwow. Featuring the best dancers and drummers from across Canada and the United States, this extraordinary competition will highlight the diversity of First Nations dancing, singing, and drumming. July 9, TC Energy Community Day. Free admission for everyone from 10am. to 2 pm. Free admission all day long and free coffee and donuts for Seniors (65+) and Military Veterans in the BMO Plaza until 11am, while quantities last. Learn more at calgarystampede.com.
July 10, BMO Kids’ Day. Join with your little ones for BMO Kids’ Day at the Calgary Stampede with free breakfast in the GMC Stadium Courtyard from 8 to 10am while quantities last, and a free variety show from 8 to 10am.
